Sometimes it takes time for us to have the opportunity to fullfill our dreams, to better know ourselves and our passions. I’ve always liked the unknown or an adventure and I always wanted to travel. I’m crazy about living new experiences and meeting new people with incredible stories, to know other places and breathe them in and soak it all up. I have always been fascinated to know the world and learn about life’s other cultures.
It seemed almost impossible that I, being born in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, Southern Brazil, would be able to travel so far and end up on this island called Ireland. It has been amazing to achive and live out a dream, coming to Ireland made my dreams possible. It was here during my first couple of years that I was able to travel and visit other countries, to amass fantastic life experiences, to meet incredible people who have shared their enchanting life histories from various corners of the world. All this contributed to my knowledge and personal growth.
I have photographed all these times, places and stories so that I could always reflect upon lifes little moments. Photography has a fundamental importance, through it we can inform ourselves, travel, go back in time, reminise and inspire ourselves. I love opening my box of printed photos and being able to remember everything that was experienced in that day, in that place and the emotion and meaning that moment has in our life. This led me to study photography here in Ireland so that I could improve myself, capture all of it more efficiently, creatively and artistically.
Documentary photography was love at first sight, it’s photography that really matters. By capturing the truth and emotion of that moment, we are able to transport ourselves to that moment in the way we would like to remember and feel it. Photographing people and their real stories of intimacy and love, it’s what I have a passion for, this style of photography and each story serves as an inspiration.
Documentary photography eternalizes that moment as life happens. The next story could be yours!
